Want to read in French? The Alliance Française de Rotterdam makes it possible!
Come and discover our French-language library, located on the first floor of the Alliance, Monday to Thursday from 11am to 8pm and Friday from 9am to 12pm.
From the classic Le Petit Prince to Fred Vargas’s thrilling detective novels and, of course, Pénélope Bagieu’s Les Culottées, we have a wide range of books for you to choose from:

The children’s section also offers comic books, novels, non-fiction books and albums to give youngsters their first taste of the French language.
Focus on… The Learner’s Library
The Learner’s Library collection helps you practise French, step by step, by reading. You’ll find these documents arranged by reading level: A1, A1-A2, A2, A2-B1, B1, B1-B2 and B2. These editions are tailor-made for students of French, with adapted vocabulary, illustrations and glossaries.

Would you like to come and work with non-fiction books? Our books on art, film, music, architecture and our collection of literary documents can be consulted on site.
The library’s collection can grow thanks to you! Do you have recent books in good condition? We accept donations of books, so that we can offer a lively selection that reflects your personal tastes. Contact us by telephone (01 04 36 04 21) or by e-mail (bonjour@alliancerotterdam.nl) and we’ll discuss your request together.
Looking for a quiet moment?
Don’t hesitate to help yourself to a coffee on the ground floor, and you’re welcome to come to the library for a moment of reading, to work, to consult our thematic selections or to borrow books.

BORROWING CONDITIONS
If you are a member of the Alliance Française de Rotterdam
-> Paid membership of €40, valid for 1 year
-> Reduced rate of €30, upon presentation of proof (student or unemployed person)
You are enrolled on a course at the Alliance Française de Rotterdam
-> Free membership, valid for 1 year
Borrow 4 books per person for a period of 4 weeks
HOW TO BORROW A BOOK
Fill in the borrowing booklet with :
-> The book number (found under the barcode at the back)
-> Your name
-> Your card number
-> Today’s date
HOW TO RETURN A BOOK
-> Put it in the bin on the table: that’s all!
