In collaboration with Galerie Phoebus, the Alliance Française Rotterdam invites you to attend the talk: How to redefine the different ways of being activists for women artists?
From April 24 to September 14, Galerie Phoebus is exhibiting the collective la tangente in its Ladekastproject – two dressers that invite artists to express themselves freely.
To celebrate the end of the exhibition, 11 artists from the ta tangente collective will be present in Rotterdam to discuss the question of activism in women’s art practice. They will be joined in their discussion by Dutch artists and art specialists.
La tangente: Since 2016, the 18 women artists of la tangente have been developing exchanges of words on their respective practices and on art. Without a program or concept, it is their relationships of esteem in an attentive listening that cemented the group, quickly rejecting the formula of «feminist activists».
