The Diploma in French Language Studies (DELF) and the Advanced Diploma in French Language Studies (DALF) are official diplomas issued by the French Ministry of Education.
These diplomas certify your French language skills for personal, professional, or academic reasons. They are recognized worldwide and are valid for life. Depending on the level passed, they can enhance your resume, facilitate access to employment, university, or certain prestigious schools, and, in the case of DELF B2, enable you to obtain French citizenship.
The exam is composed of a group written test (listening comprehension, reading comprehension, and writing) and an individual oral test, and allows students to validate one level of the Common European Framework for Languages (CEFR).
How does it work?
- Register for the exam that is right for you by choosing: the desired version (Tout Public or Junior), the exam session, the level, and whether you would like to receive your diploma by registered mail (+€18).
- As an AFR student, you are entitled to a 5% discount on your exam. Contact us to take advantage of this offer.
- Once the payment has been made, you are required to complete the registration form. You can indicate on this form any disability that requires special accommodations.
- Practice the different sections – listening comprehension, speaking, reading comprehension, and writing – using Global Exam materials or through private lessons with one of our certified teachers.
- You will receive the schedule for the day and your official notification by email at least one week before the start date of the exams. Please arrive at the Alliance Française in Rotterdam on the date and at the time indicated. You will be asked to present a valid ID. The written and oral exams take place on the same day (it is not possible to take the exams over several days) and are only available on paper.
- A certificate of completion or results will be issued to you as soon as the results are announced (between two and three weeks). Your diploma will be available three months after your exam at the Alliance Française Rotterdam reception desk, or it will be sent to you by registered mail if you have requested it.
DELF/DALF tout public (for the general public)
