Created by the CCI (Chamber of Commerce and Industry) Paris Ile-de-France, the TEF is an international reference exam that measures your level of knowledge and skills in French.

There are 4 versions:

• TEF à 5 épreuves
• TEF Québec (TEFAQ)
• TEF Canada
• TEF Integration, Residence and Nationality (TCF IRN)

The TEF is a reliable, quick and objective measure of your general French level. Recognised throughout the world, it can be useful when looking for a job with French-speaking companies or when planning to study in France.

The Test d’Evaluation de Français adapté au Québec (TEFAQ) – is the version of the TEF required by the Ministère de l’Immigration de la Francisation et de l’Intégration (MIFI) of Quebec as part of an official immigration application. The TEFAQ results in a certificate of achievement valid for two years.

The TEF Canada is a mandatory test for economic immigration programs that require proof of language skills, at the request of Citizenship and Immigration Canada.

Recognized by the Ministry of the Interior, the TEF Integration, Residence and Nationality is intended for any foreigner over 16 years old who wishes to improve their level of French within the framework of the OFII citizenship program (level A1), certify their level of French for an application for a long-term resident card (level A2), or certify their level of French for an application for French nationality (level B1).
